The global air fryers market is entering a decade of rapid expansion, according to a new industry analysis by Business Research Insights. Valued at USD 1.14 billion in 2026, the market is projected to reach USD 4.59 billion by 2035, registering a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 16.79% across the 2026-2035 forecast period. The category has travelled a long way from a niche countertop gadget: it is now established mainstream kitchen equipment, propelled by healthier cooking habits, the search for energy efficiency, and the realities of compact urban living. More than 65% of households in developed economies own at least one small kitchen appliance designed for healthier cooking, and air fryers take a significant share of new countertop appliance purchases. Replacement cycles have shortened to four to six years, which underpins recurring demand rather than a one-off replacement boom.
Regional distribution based on cited market research
Regionally, the market remains unevenly distributed. North America leads with 38% of global revenue, supported by mature retail channels and high household penetration. Europe accounts for 30%, where stringent energy-labelling rules and a strong sustainability agenda shape product specifications. Asia-Pacific holds 24% today but is the fastest-rising region, as urbanisation, rising disposable incomes and growing health awareness pull first-time buyers into the category. For importers and distributors, that gradient matters: mature markets buy on replacement and feature upgrades, while emerging markets buy on first-time affordability.

Product design is where the real competition now sits. Drawer-type air fryers dominate with 74% share of unit demand, and capacities between 5 and 8 litres capture more than 55% of consumer purchases — a direct fit for households of three to six people. Dual-zone (dual-basket) configurations now appear in roughly 55% of new product launches, allowing two dishes to cook simultaneously at different temperatures, while multifunctional units combining roasting, baking, grilling and dehydrating are becoming the default rather than the exception. Digital touchscreen interfaces feature in about 68% of new models, and smart connectivity is built into close to half of premium units. Energy efficiency remains a decisive purchase argument: an air fryer typically uses 30% to 50% less electricity than a conventional electric oven for a comparable cooking task.
For B2B buyers, private-label brands and importers, the signal is clear. The winning specification for the 2026-2035 cycle is a multifunctional, drawer-type unit in the 5-8 litre band with a dual-zone basket, a digital interface and verified energy performance. Buyers should also confirm that suppliers hold the certification set their destination market requires — CE, CB, GS and LFGB for Europe, UL for North America, plus SASO, SAA or PSE as applicable — because compliance, not headline price, is increasingly what decides whether a shipment clears.
