The global air fryer market is set to reach USD 1,525.91 million in 2026, growing at a CAGR of 8.91% through 2032. Residential use still dominates with 82.45% of 2025 revenue (USD 1,121.3M), while commercial applications hold 17.55% as a strategic complement. North America leads with 49.09% of the 2025 market, followed by Europe at 30.22%.

Beneath the steady growth, 2025–2026 has been a period of intense pressure on OEMs and brands. U.S. imports of Chinese-origin air fryers fell 23% in 2025 as tariffs and freight rates bit — Instant Brands saw its air fryer gross margin compress from 29.7% (2023) to 18.4% (H1 2025). Brands scrambled to diversify: Vietnam shipments rose 41% but suffered 19 days of line stoppages in Q3 2025 on Japanese thermal-fuse shortages, while a Mexico nearshoring pilot reached only 67% first-pass yield by April 2026.

Regulation is now a central battleground. The EU's ECHA formally adopted its PFAS restriction in October 2025, with phased implementation from 2027 — adding an estimated €4.2–€7.8 per unit in compliance cost for mid-tier OEMs. In Q1 2026, California's DTSC enforced PFAS labeling rules against three brands, with combined penalties over $2.4 million. Safety recalls also intensified: COSORI voluntarily recalled 268,000 units in the U.S. in June 2025 over overheating control boards, and Secura faced a 2026 recall for fire hazards from overheated wire connections. Meanwhile, Philips settled its ITC Section 337 case (337-TA-1421) against multiple Chinese makers in a confidential January 2026 agreement.

For OEM/ODM manufacturers, the message is clear: PFAS-free materials, verified electrical components, and full compliance documentation are no longer back-office work — they are the new competitive edge.
