Wonderchef — the Indian kitchen-appliance brand co-founded by celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor — has launched the GreenLife 6.5L Digital Air Fryer with Veg Menu, pitched as India's first air fryer built around a dedicated vegetarian-only preset menu. The timing is deliberate: India is entering its busiest festive window (Navratri fasting menus, Diwali snack platters, wedding-season gifting), when the kitchen becomes the centre of the celebration and the oil bottle gets more use than ever. Most air fryers on the market are still tuned for chicken, fish and meat presets, leaving vegetarian cooks to guess their way through settings during the one season they cook the most. GreenLife closes that gap with one-touch veg presets for fries, wedges, patties, pizza and stir-fry.
Two product decisions stand out for B2B buyers. First, the material story: at the heart of the appliance is a ceramic-coated basket that is PFOA-free and PFAS-free, positioned as a cleaner alternative to the conventional PTFE-based non-stick coatings found in most kitchen appliances — a direct answer to a market that has grown "increasingly attentive to what its cookware is made of." Second, the capacity: at 6.5 litres, GreenLife is sized for batch-after-batch festive cooking for a house full of guests, not a single serving. Priced at ₹6,999 and sold via wonderchef.com plus leading online and offline retail, the launch is also framed as a festive-gifting contender — Indian gifting has steadily shifted from generic hampers toward genuinely useful kitchen appliances.
The launch confirms a structural shift in the Indian market: air fryers are maturing from novelty gadget to genuine kitchen staple, and differentiation is moving toward localised cooking logic (veg-first presets) and material safety (coating-free claims) rather than raw power. For importers, that means festive-season demand is concentrated, spikes hard, and rewards suppliers who can both certify and replenish fast.
EPRO Perspective: As a manufacturer & exporter (工贸一体, one team from mold to shipment), EPRO notes that India is one of its core markets, and the Wonderchef launch is a textbook case of the "230-million-units-a-year, can the factory keep up?" pressure the category now exerts. Festive demand in India is front-loaded and unforgiving — a supplier that cannot sustain surge replenishment with certifications in hand simply loses the season. EPRO's answer runs on two rails. On materials, our borosilicate glass basket is a zero-coating alternative to PFOA/PFAS ceramic — no PTFE to degrade, no ceramic to chip — a cleaner OEM/ODM story for health-conscious emerging markets. On compliance and scale, EPRO already holds CE / UKCA / ETL / CB approvals and is building BIS (FMCS) into its dual-zone air-fryer programs, with 500,000 units-per-month capacity across 8 lines so BIS sample submission and production ramp run in parallel. With 4L+4L dual-zone lines (8L total, independent zones, 220–240V wide voltage for unstable grids across India, Pakistan and Bangladesh) we deliver private label / OEM / ODM air fryers that hit both the localisation and the certification bar.
